Teleza Foster (right) is a smallholder from Kaloga growing club, Chikwawa District. She farms just under an acre of land to feed her family of 6 and generate income. Previous smallholder programes have required Teleza to grow cash crops such as chillis instead of staple crops used to feed her family, MML's prorammes allow moringa trees to be grown in additon to staple crops. Teleza said "I am so thankful for Moringa Miracles. I have started to increase my income and can still produce food for my family."
Isaac Chimwaza (centre) is a smallholder from Blantyre district. He farms just over half an acre of land to feed his family of 5 and generate income. His family survices on less than $1 a day - he sits at the base of the base of the pyramid. MML's operations have increased his income and access to nutrious food. He welcomes MML's programme and said "since working with Moringa Miracles my family has added moringa to our diets - my children are thriving"
Ireen Dimba (front) is a smallholder from Chikumbu growing club, Balntyre District. She farms half an acre and often struggles to grow enough food for her family of 7. To suplement her income during times of food insecurity she produces charcoal. She understands that by cutting down trees on hillsides for charcoal production she increases the potetnial for localised flooding to take place, but says she has no choice. "I have to feed my family tomorrow I cannot worry about what happens in 6 months". MML's programme provides a solution to this viscious cycle by offering a sustainable means to generate income. Ireen says "I have been able to find school fees for my children since working with Moringa Miracles."
